Dr. Ivan Goncharenko’s journey is a distinguished blend of academic excellence and significant practical experience. He earned his higher education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and obtained a second degree from Lund University in Sweden, specializing in “Islam and the Middle East.” Ivan further advanced his academic credentials with a PhD in Middle Eastern Studies and a Master’s degree in International Law from the Sorbonne University.

Born in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, Ivan repatriated to Israel at the age of 13, a transition that instilled in him resilience and adaptability. After finishing school, he was drafted into the Israeli Defense Forces, where he served as a commander in the elite canine special unit “Oketz” (“Sting”). During his Reserve service, he also worked as a Big Data Analyst specializing in Arabic language in the Information Unit for Times of Crisis, Home Front Command, IDF.

After graduating from university, Ivan served as a Middle East Affairs Consultant at the Israeli Permanent Mission to the UN in New York. His professional career further expanded as he led international PR and marketing projects, demonstrating his expertise in building and managing teams for unique solutions in profiling, establishing monitoring offices, and creating positive and influential public images. In addition to English, he speaks Russian, Ukrainian, Swedish, Arabic and Hebrew.

With a career that includes experience in academia, consulting, non-profits, and government, he grasps the culture and requirements of your sector. He is skilled at dismantling organizational barriers and encouraging productive collaboration and communication among various stakeholders.

Dr. Goncharenko’s background, combining rigorous academic training with practical military and analytical experience, positions him as a highly skilled and versatile professional. His journey from Mykolaiv to Jerusalem and beyond reflects his dedication to understanding and contributing to complex geopolitical landscapes.

For 7 years, held the position of the Birthright Taglit Israel Marketing and Recruitment Director in the UK, FSU, and Germany.

Served for 2 years as the Israeli Fellow of the Jewish Agency at the University of Virginia Tech (USA).
